Welcome to Chuckles Nursery website. We are so much better at being hands on with children than writing about it but we will try our best to give you a picture as to what we do and why we do it so well.

Chuckles Private Day Care Nursery in Newport, opened its doors on the 8th November 1999, and has been growing from strength to strength ever since, servicing the Newport, Cwmbran, Risca and Rogerstone areas, thanks not only to the committed child care practitioners within our team, but also strong family support. Our child care team has grown with us, many starting straight from school, training, qualifying and moving on to have their own children, but most remaining as we work hard to ensure they all have a good work life balance.

Above all here at Chuckles Day Nursery, we believe that children should be allowed to be children. They are experiencing the best years of their lives and we are here to help them to do this.
Each child is valued as an individual, with different needs, abilities and potential. We have endeavoured to create child care environment where they feel comfortable, secure and confident. We want them to feel challenged physically, emotionally and intellectually, but not to feel under pressure to do so.

The interior here at the nursery provides a surrounding of interesting colours, shapes and materials to stimulate your child’s mind into action from the moment you step in through the door. All of our areas are spacious with large windows to ensure a light and airy feel and are individually decorated with colourful artwork and displays from the children.

The grounds we have here at Chuckles really can’t be beaten.
Set in an acre of land, we are well away from any roads and immediate pollution but still only just over a mile from the M4 motorway. Surrounding wildlife such as squirrels, and neighbouring horses, chickens, ducks and pigs are an added treat. The car park is located to the front of the building with unobstructed parking bays for up to 8 cars and then further space for another twelve cars around the other side.
The outside areas are split to ensure the children have a variety of experiences. All areas are accessible to the children at all times to allow them choices and have been designed with their input. Throughout the year, our team at Chuckles will endeavour to ensure the children have as much fresh air as possible.
In our Patio Area the children can carry out all the creative activities they do inside, drawing, painting, sand play, water play as well as ball games, whatever the weather.
The Sensory Garden has a large grassed open space with huts made from willow trees, a slide built into the hill, a purpose built outside kitchen and areas where the children can dig and explore. One of the willow huts houses our Forest School Area, where children can sit and learn or reflect on their experiences in the outdoors.
The bike track is designed specifically so that those children who wish to ride can do so safely, and is accessible from both the Sensory Garden and the Patio area. We also have a Decking area which is situated on a higher level and is covered with Astro turf. Here the younger children to play safely while they watch the older children
